Interviews were conducted with a broad spectrum of organisations from world renowned cultural institutions such as the Science Museum to niche automotive museums like the Riverside Glasgow. The research identified four key parameters in which each experience performed in varying degrees—didactic and immersive. Each event was assessed and charted against these headings and the resulting matrix formed a key visual throughout the report.
The report not only acted as a guide for the future plans at Volkswagen Autostadt but it is also a snapshot of contemporary practice in exhibition design, curation and the creation of immersive, visitor centered experiences.
